Get ready for a really thrilling wildlife experience. No, you don’t have to take a jeep safari. You can just use your own two feet and find your way to the lovely Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park to encounter some very rare and exotic creatures. Follow the serene path down to the Snow Leopard Breeding Centre Call ahead to do so because there is some very special conservation work going on here to save one of earth’ s most precious wild animals. It’s really a privilege to be able to come face to face with the snow leopard, which normally is to be found at very high altitudes in the Himalayas. This is probably the only place in the world where breeding of snow leopards in captivity has been successful. There is a genuine worry for their survival as climate change will surely impact on their snowy habitat as the glaciers have started retreating because of global warming and it needs to find a home in even higher altitudes. On your way to the centre keep a look out for the endangered red panda feeding among the trees.

Day 1 : NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport - Gangtok (120 km - 5 hr approx.)

Upon arrival at NJP Railway station / Bagdogra Airport, you will be met by a local driver who will transfer you to your hotel in Gangtok (5,500 ft.). After reaching the hotel, check in and the rest of the day is free on your own. Overnight at your hotel in Gangtok.

Day 2 : Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

After breakfast, proceed for a full day excursion to Changu (Tsomgo) Lake which is 35 Kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snows off the surrounding mountains. Later, visit Baba Mandir (55km from Gangtok) situated at an altitude of 13200feet. . Overnight at your hotel in Gangtok.

(In case of any natural calamity or any other reason, if Tsomgo Lake is closed, then we will arrange alternate sightseeing.)

Day 3 : Gangtok - Pelling (150 km - 5 hr approx.)

After breakfast start for Pelling (6,300 ft.). On arrival check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Day 4 : Pelling Sightseeing

After breakfast start for full day sightseeing. 1st Half tour - Darap village, Rimbi water Falls, Khecheopalri Lake & Khangchendzongha waterfalls. In afternoon start for 2nd Half tour - Pemayangtse Monastery, Sang-Ngag Choling (Sky Walk – at your own cost),New Helipad Ground. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Day 5 : Pelling - Darjeeling (80 km - 4 hr approx.)

This morning after breakfast transfer to Darjeeling (6,950 ft.) via Singla check post. On arrival check-in to your hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 6 : Darjeeling Sightseeing

Early morning (4:00 AM) proceed for Tiger Hill (Subject to availability of Permit / Token). Later, return back to hotel in time for breakfast. Post breakfast, proceed for local Darjeeling sightseeing. Visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute(Thursday Closed), P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Ropeway(tickets on own), Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Japanese Temple, Ghoom Monastery, Batasia loop. The evening is free on your own to explore Darjeeling. Overnight at your hotel in Darjeeling.

(Sometimes, Tiger Hill Permit is granted for evening sunset view. In that case the Tiger hill excursion would be arranged after the local sightseeing tour)

Day 7 : Darjeeling - NJP Rly Station / IXB airport (75 km - 3 hr approx.)

After breakfast Check-out from hotel in time and take the departure transfer to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport for your onward journey.

Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes) etc.
Any increase in Airlines taxes or fuel price at the time of departure, leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure.
