Bandhavgarh National Park in Central India is the world’s top tiger-spotting destination. Kanha National park also famous for its tigers has played an exemplary role in the conservation of the barasingha (swamp deer) hunted mercilessly as a trophy by hunters. The earliest portrayal of the tiger in India comes to us from the Indus Valley Civilisation from where a 2,500 BC seal featuring a tiger was found.
